Rhinehoth by Brian E. Niskala is a very interesting mystery tale that I came across recently and I found it worthy and enjoyable reading this. The story is woven around Simon-the protagonist who gets imprisoned after he got caught while robbing a jewelry shop. He gets held in a prison named Rhinehoth-filled with mystery, legends and dark secrets. There are dogs spreading the fear of death. The captors are warevolves who are not immortal but have longer lifespan than humans. They were the army of an ancient king and his brother Adolf. The legend reveals about a Ludwing von Rhinehoth who is the is the main captor and castle is named after him. Everything turns upside down when the doctor named Maxine who works at the prison says Simon that she is Rhinehoth's daughter and further she is a vampire. The story is an engaging read and its interesting. Filled with mystery, dark secrets and delight this gripped my mind from the the very first page to the last. Recommended!Tags : Rhinehoth [Brian E. Rhinehoth Brian E Niskala 9781449907600 Books Reviews
This book is very poorly written. It is as if the writer has no conception of the English language. Every page is riddled with errors and it greatly detracts from the story. The story is not very good either. I wanted to like this book because the author enticed me to buy it, but it failed miserably.
The author says I am the first to complain, but I believe that must be because others do not know how to reach him.
Perhaps I am aware of the many editing mistakes because I am accustomed to reading some of the very best literature.
I do not recommend this book at all.
Wow - Even if I would have wanted to get into this story the poor spelling and sentence structure stopped me in my tracks. I found myself automatically reading sentences they way they should be written not as they were. I'm not into the vampire genre, but I purchased it anyway because the cover of the book is so great! I suggest that Mr. Niskala get a new proof reader. Next time I'll go for substance (story) over style (cover). I will be requesting a refund from . com.
I'm certainly glad I bought the e-book version of "Rhinehoth" and not the paperback. That would be because it cost less, and it takes less effort to delete one file, than it does throwing out a book.
I really, really regret not downloading a preview of this "book" before shelling out the $5,74 on it.
I managed to force myself through something like 20 pages of Rhinehoth before deleting it from my .
The reasons for this are
1. Run-on sentences. Mr. Niskala should learn how to punctuate more often than every 4th-5th line. Reading even a single page is confusing, and takes too much effort to keep track of where one sentence begins and ends.
2. Use of verbs...At first I thought the book was written by someone whose mother tongue is not English, and was prepared to excuse it for that reason. Then I looked at the author page on here and found out that it was written by a person born and raised in America!
3. You actually get more backstory on the main character when reading the blurb on this page than you get when reading the book (Unless it happens more than 20 pages in; That's where I gave up).
4. The author writes in a kind of juvenile way...Substituting descriptions of sounds which could've worked by writing (for instance) "It made a BANG!"
Last but not least, I'm honestly puzzled at the positive reviews this book has earned here on ; Either the author has family / friends writing up good reviews to convince other people to buy them, or he himself has been busy writing them. Honestly, some of these good reviews has the same never-ending sentence format that the author himself is so fond of.
I honestly, once again, regret not downloading a preview of the book before buying it. I only read about 20 pages as I've mentioned, and about 10 of them took me well over a day of forcing myself to try, and try again so as to not feel like I threw my money out the window.
Rhinehoth, By Brian E. Niskala. Highly recommend this fab book. If you are a fan of vampires and werewolves, then this is a book for you. Very well written, I found i was instantly hooked from the start. Without giving too much of the plot away (as you really must read it yourself), its set in a castle/prison in Germany. The main character, Simon, is sent to this prison after a failed attempt at a jewellery store robbery. There is more to the character, Simon, than meets the eye. Infact, there is more to alot of the characters than meets the eye. I found myself drawn into the story, and the ending is definately left wide open for a sequel!!! (which i eagerly await)
This is Brian E. Niskala's first published book, and i foresee great things to come if this story is anything to go by.
Very impressed, looking forward to reading another book from this author.
A very enjoyable book. Lots of twists and turns.
Great Book and Voice
Simply the book is great itself, I started to read Chapter 1 Court 2
And I felt that it's going to be a great one so I tend to the Audible
version Then it started to feel how interesting when it Read and Listen
simultaneously.
I like Horror also like secrets when there's a secret to myself I feel
very strange feelings. I really need to say this is my favorite
Chapter 6 "The Visitor" This includes more stories which I really love to Read.
Thanks you so much Brian
