I liked the book and I feel emotionally invested in the series, so I will keep reading but the book and series are getting too real for me. The author has started to fix some of the damage, so I just hope she continues to fix the rest.
Mason, Max, Sloan, and Oriana are still not together again. I get so upset when we're given the happily ever after and it gets ripped away. It's a romance novel. I read them specifically for guaranteed happily ever after. Silver has post partum depression. Landon doesn't know if he'll play again. Mason has sex with another woman. Carter is coming on to people because he wants Sebastian to share him the way Jami gets shared. I'm scared to read the next book. Of course, I'm going to read the next book. Bianca Sommerland is very talented and I enjoy her style and voice tremendously.

This series keeps getting better! This book focuses on Becky, Zack and Scott. Each has their own hurdles to jump but when you bring them together, WOW! It is easy to focus on the sexual aspect of Sommerland's writing, but what she seems to effortlessly do is to show how each partner is needed, necessary and she completely involves each partner into the relationship. Nobody is a "throwaway" or a sexy extra just for effect!
I think this story was the most romantic of Ms. Sommerlands series so far. She took us into the continuing lives of Silver and her men, as well as introducing us to Becky, Landon's sister.
Relationships are hard work. Just like hockey is hard work. Zach & Scott have no idea how much their lives will change, nor does Becky. But trust comes hard for her and with Scott's image falling apart faster and faster, will Zach be able to save them both?
I love how she sucks me in with the characters. Each relationship different, but all so twined together. I like the way the story as a whole continues, but you get a new facet of it with each book. It's like you're there. And you want to cheer for a good outcome. And boo the naysayers. I just adore these people. I mean stories.😉
I have no interest in hockey but yet I keep reading this series. The characters are interesting and the relationships complex. The game does play an integral part in the "courtship" because we see the bonds the male characters form among themselves that will allow them to share a single woman. I enjoy that because this is a team, we see a lot of couples from the previous books. There is also always a serious undertone to the books because there are continuing obstacles to lasting HEAs. Sex is excellent and varied
Yep, this is an addictive series.
The authors writes characters that you fall in love with. Characters you don't ever want to finish reading about.
This is Scott, Zach, and Becky's story. I love Scott and Zach together, but I also love Becky in the mix. Little Casey just adds another dimension to this loving relationship.
Can't wait to read more of this series.
Well written and I love how all the characters appear in this book as well. It's great how we get to read more about there stories. I can see that Silver, Landon and Dean are headed towards disaster. Sucks especially now that Landon has his baby girl. I feel sorry for Dean. A man so well put together has to be a crutch at times because Silver is going through PPD. It's sucks. I hope they can get back on track. I wonder if Patrick will continue me back and try something sneaky now that Becky and Casey are finally happy or worse Timmy or Jimmy whatever his name is tries to come back and make trouble for Scott. Ugh he's such a hot mess.
A series worth reading.
As you all know I am a fan of Sommerland's work, but she went above and beyond in this book. So far it is my favorite in the series.
Previous books have given us glimpses of Scott Demyan. Yes, he's hot. Yes, he's a good sniper. Oh and is he ever a mess. Scott has never met a bottle of booze, a guy, or girl that he wouldn't at least attempt to corrupt. He comes of as carefree but he is really troubled. In Breakway, Zach Pearce made me love him when he told Scott he was the prize he wanted. Scott on the other hand thinks the only thing he is worth is a good lay. I am amazed at where Sommerland went with this story. It's hard to write a character effected by child sexual abuse. Moreover, it's nearly impossible to write a believable male victim. Scott is the closest character I've ever read to embody those actual emotions. Watching him struggle to be a friend to Becky and Zach is great. Seeing him grow from a bro into a decent guy who could actually be a role model. I loved him even more. His interactions with Casey are perfect. Finally, him adopting the baby goalie Hunt and seeing his efforts for Sahara make you realize he wants a home with the Cobras. Bless poor Stephen who's job is to at least make him look like a grown up.
Zach Pearce is very level. One of the few things that get him bothered is Scott. I think we all understand that. He sees an opportunity for a relationship with Becky. He knows they both want Scott but he is determined to make sure Scott won't break either of their hearts. Zach is strong steady confidence for both Becky and Scott. Zach wants Scott to know that he is loved and worth more than his reputation.
Becky Bower is the sister of the Dartmouth Goalie Landon Bower and a reporter. We have witnessed her and Scott's interactions in the locker room and it is palpable. No one will forget the lotion or her kissing Scott to piss of Landon. But she wants more but thinks she knows the score with Scott. As her relationship with Zach and Scott grows I like her even more. The fact that she gave birth to the awesomeness that is Casey makes her rank higher in my world.
Oh yeah did I mention that there is hot sex in this book!!!
