What can i say i truly enjoyed this book i loved how the characters were very well develop it seems like that all of them had a lot going on in their personal lives including natalie one thing i can say about her is that she had a lot of emotional baggage that she has carried into her relationship with paddy, because it seems like that she didn't know how to handle real problems when they started to have aruguments in their relationship but i am glad that paddy was there to help deal natalie deal with her issues because clearly it was a lot that she had dealt with but never really solved once she got into the relationship with paddy. But i am just glad that he was there to help her out but one thing that i can truly say that i loved about this story is that even though they had hooked up for 2 weeks before this time around they got into a relationship they fully got to know one another and they got to understand each other on a personal level and one thing i didn't like about natalie father is that he would uses excuses as to why he turned out that way and made natalie feel like she has to take care of him even because she is daughter and he never takes fault for what he has done. And as for tuesday she is everything that you would want in a best friend because she is there to push natalie when she doesn't believe in her self or she is scared to do. But i can also say to that tuesday is scared to be in a relationship with ezra because she is still in love with her husband who has passed away but i think that she should give ezra a try. And as for ezra he been through a lot in his life but i am glad that he hasn't put blame on anybody and why he had turned out the way that he has done but most of all this was a great story.Tags : The Best Kind of Trouble (The Hurley Boys) [Lauren Dane] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. 4.5 Stars
I fell pretty hard for the Hurley brothers in LUSH, and was so excited when Lauren Dane announced that she was writing Ezra, Paddy and Vaughan's stories. The first Hurley Boys book, Paddy's story was all I hoped for, and then some!
Rock star Paddy Hurley reconnects with a former fling, Natalie Clayton, now a librarian in his hometown. Neither has really been in a relationship before and both struggle to make it work, learning as they go. Natalie has trust and control issues stemming from a chaotic childhood. She has worked very hard to distance herself from her family and her past, to surround herself with a close-knit group of girlfriends and to work at a job that gives meaning to her life and brings joy and satisfaction. After lots of therapy, she is aware of most of her hot buttons and is continually striving to work through her issues as they arise. She isn't interested in a relationship, but finds herself unable to resist Paddy for long. Paddy is sexy, charismatic, charming, funny, and doesn't take himself too seriously. He's never had to work to get any woman he wanted. But he's never wanted a woman for more than a brief fling. That all changes when he runs in to Natalie again. These two have great chemistry and I loved them together. As usual, the sex scenes are smoking hot, and plentiful. Both characters are well-developed and multi-dimensional. They're both flawed, but pretty self aware. They makes mistakes and are far from perfect, but they're smart enough to realize their mistakes and eventually work through them. Natalie has more issues than Paddy, but all the conflicts felt authentic, never contrived. There were a couple of instances where it would have been easy to take these characters in predictable directions, but happily, Ms. Dane is a better writer than that, and chose another path for these two.
THE BEST KIND OF TROUBLE is a perfect example of what Lauren Dane does best-write amazing family relationships and hot, romantic relationships, with a great cast of fascinating supporting characters. The Hurley brothers are all hot, fun, and talented. They fight with and insult one another, but they are tight-knit and supportive of each other. They truly are each other's best friends; they're available for hanging out, giving advice and calling each other out when one screws up. Ms. Dane has set a pretty high bar and I seriously can't wait to read Ezra and Vaughan's books!
Great story, Paddy Hurley meets up with Natalie 11 years after they had a 2-week fling. He was just starting out with his band, before making it big. She was in a wild phase, just before starting college. Now Paddy is a rock star, and lives in this little town where his family has a ranch. When they're not recording or touring, they're ranching. Natalie is the town librarian and is now a very controlled woman, who hates disorder and being out of control. Yet Paddy is so magnetic and charismatic, he has her life out of control and her hormones all awry. She is "the one that got away", the woman he never forgot, as he went on to fame and fortune.
This was a great read, and there was only one thing. The book went on and on about their issues, Natalie's need for a controlled existence and Paddy's slight immaturity. He's never been in love before and was scared spitless and didn't know how to handle it. The sex scenes were too frequent and the plot was long-winded, but still it was entertaining and it had great characters. Loved the whole Hurley family!
